Presentation Title
Day 1: Contact Lenses & Children
Day 2: Clinical Pearls in Orthokeratology Practice

Abstract:
(1)Day 1: Contact Lenses & Children
The increase in prevalence of myopia and its sequelae has led to global concerns. This has led to the importance of myopia management in optometry practice and contact lenses is one of the optical interventions listed, particularly orthokeratology for myopia control in children. This talk will present best available knowledge, derived from research as well as clinical experience, to guide, encourage, and facilitate evidence-based contact lens practice in children. This presentation will cover a range of issues associated with contact lens fitting in children:  orthokeratology for myopia control; patient selection criteria; parental involvement; effectiveness and safety of treatment; and other optical options for myopia control.

(2)Day 2: Clinical Pearls in Orthokeratology Practice
Clinical Pearls refers to ‘small bits of free standing, clinically relevant information based on experience or observation’. In this talk, real-life cases will be presented and discussed to alert practitioners of unexpected and/or inadequate behaviours on the part of either the practitioners or patients/parents in orthokeratology practice. These cases will also be used to demonstrate the importance of specific learning points, to offer practical advice to encourage and facilitate safe orthokeratology practice.
