Scleral stem/progenitor cells in experimental myopia
Abstract：
It was reported that the sclera play a role in the development and pathological complications of myopia. We once identified the presence of a group of stem cells, the scleral stem/progenitor cells (SSPCs), existing in mouse sclera. We also reported that these cells may play some role in the homeostasis and changes of sclera through the chondrogenic differentiation potential. Here we would like to present and review more information about SSPCs in experimental myopia.
